William B. Harley, MA, PCC, CPCC
Bill Harley is President of Harley Consulting & Coaching, Inc. This St. Paul-based human and organization development firm provides consultation, coaching, education, and facilitation services to release human and organizational potential in service to others. His special interest areas include strategic planning, personal, professional, and relationship coaching, group & team decision-making, sales training, leadership development, conflict management, and cultural transformation. He serves clients ranging from Caterpillar, Motorola, Lucas Aerospace, and Ford Motor Company to the University of Minnesota, the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities, numerous federal, state, and city government agencies, and smaller firms.
Bill has logged over 20 years of experience in organization development, sales, marketing, product-line, and general management positions in the printing, industrial design/engineering, promotional products and plastic injection-molding industries. These positions were held with large, medium and small organizations. He has also founded and grown three businesses–one manufacturing and two service businesses. Bill’s diverse experiences have given him insight into the crucial interplay required between human, operational and customer-focus factors to make an organization successful.
His consulting, training, facilitation and coaching engagements have involved a wide range of organizations including service, manufacturing, education, health care and government. Bill has been a featured speaker, presented papers and led workshops at international, national and regional conferences sponsored by such organizations as the International Quality And Productivity Center, American Society For Quality Control (ASQC), American Health Care Association, Mid-America Chamber Executives, Federal Quality Institute and many others.
He is an adjunct faculty member at The University of Minnesota and Metropolitan State University where he has been recognized for excellence in teaching. Bill earned his B.A. and M.A. degrees from Brown University, Providence, RI, and the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN. He has also achieved the Professional Certified Coach (PCC) designation from the International Coach Federation and the Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) designation from the Coaches Training Institute. Bill’s articles have been published in the international journals, Empowerment In Organizations and Team Performance Management. He is the co-author with his wife, Jean, of the book, Now That I’m Here, What Should I Be Doing?: Discover Life’s Purpose.

Jean Harley, Licensed Psychologist, is Vice President of Harley Consulting & Coaching, Inc. (HCC). This St. Paul-based human and organization development firm provides consultation, coaching, education, and facilitation services to release human and organizational potential in service to others. Her special interest areas include individual and small group development, support group systems, and consensus decision-making. HCC serves clients ranging from Caterpillar, Motorola, Lucas Aerospace, and Ford Motor Company to the University of Minnesota, the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities, numerous federal, state, and city government agencies, and smaller firms.
Jean has compiled over 20 years of experience in the education, graphic design, and mental health industries. Her positions have been held with institutions, non-profit organizations and medium and small sized corporations. Before becoming a psychotherapist, Jean co-founded and was president of a consulting graphic design firm serving organizational clients. Earlier in her career, she was an education lecturer at the Minneapolis Institute Of Arts.
Jean specializes in working with individuals to accelerate personal growth and to solve personal problems involving, for example, stress, anxiety, anger and/or depression. She also works with pairs and small groups having interpersonal difficulties. In addition to her work at HCC, Jean has a psychotherapy practice at The Midwest Center For Personal & Family Development in St. Paul and Woodbury, Minnesota. Prior to that, she was associated with The Counseling Clinic in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, and The Omne Clinic in Wisconsin.
Jean earned her M.A. in Counseling Psychology from St. Mary’s Graduate Center in Minneapolis, MN. She also earned M.A. and B.A. degrees from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN. She is a member of the American Psychological Association and Minnesota Women Psychologists. She is the co-author with her husband, Bill, of the book, Now That I’m Here, What Should I Be Doing?: Discover Life’s Purpose..
